On December 14, the conference Quality of life and local public policies was held, organized by the Catalan Association of Regional Science (ACCR) and the Commission of Territorial and Urban Economy (CETU) of the College of Economists of Catalonia.

Public statistics and, in particular, statistics from the National Statistics Institute, have gradually incorporated data on the quality of life of the population by measuring the progress of societies and the well-being of individuals, beyond those traditionally used as measures of growth and well-being, such as GDP and other aggregate indicators of National Accounts.

The conference, presented and moderated by Miquel Morell, member of the Governing Board of the Association of Economists of Catalonia and Àlex Costa, president of the ACCR, was attended by Mr. Antonio Argüeso, General Director of the INE, Ms. Dolors Cotrina, Head of the Analysis Department of the Municipal Data Office of Barcelona City Council, and Mr. Maties Serracant, Geographer and advisor in transversal policies Department of Territory of the Generalitat de Catalunya.
