Specific modification of the Urban Master Plan of the Barcelona Metropolitan Area to repeal the MPGM that was approved on 22 July 2009, and which had the initial aim of including a hotel area linked to the Palau de la Música.

The link between hotel use and the Palau de la Música subsequently declined and, consequently, public interest in the 2009 MPGM also declined.

The peculiarity of the MPGM in 2017 lies in the fact that it repealed, on the basis of civil law, the MPGM of 2009 and declared the parameters prior to 22 July 2009 to be applicable.
